THE PROJECT

An identity and publishing home for a gaming community.

Steam Deck HQ helps readers find ways to configure games and get more from the Steam Deck. My work connects the publication’s brand identity with its website, turning an initial concept into a platform for gaming coverage and a community of handheld enthusiasts.

My contribution

SCOPE OF WORK
  1. Brand identity

Developing a cohesive identity for a publication focused on handheld gaming.

  2. Website design and development

Building the publication’s digital presence around its coverage and game-related information.

  3. Digital marketing

Supporting the brand with marketing informed by website data and audience engagement.

DESIGN & INTENT

A publication built around a particular audience

The subject gives the project a clear focus: the experience of playing on the Steam Deck. News, reviews, and configuration information serve readers who want to understand how games behave on the handheld. The website and identity provide a consistent home for that work.

BUILD & CONTEXT

Brand and publishing, considered together

My role spans the way the publication presents itself and the website through which readers encounter it. The examples include the home page and a game review, showing the identity across both an overview of the publication and a focused piece of coverage.
