Keeping a team’s work connected over time.
Newton is a local desktop workspace for working with persistent AI teammates. I’m designing and building a place where a project’s people, conversations, routines, and work stay together, so returning to a task does not mean reconstructing its context.
My contribution
SCOPE OF WORKA home for each project
Project teams, named teammates, saved conversations, and profiles organized around ongoing work.
Coordination and continuity
Recurring routines, project handoffs, and a runtime that stays connected to work beyond the desktop window.
Interface and identity
A focused reading surface, illustrated characters, and a recognizable visual identity for the workspace.
The conversation is the working surface
Newton gives conversations most of the screen, with role details and technical activity available when they are useful. Project selection, pinned teammates, and message drafts persist across navigation. The aim is to keep orientation easy while moving between different kinds of work.
A desktop app with a separate runtime
The React and TypeScript interface sits inside a Tauri desktop shell. A Rust runtime manages queues, routines, provider sessions, and handoffs to Codex CLI and Claude Code. Closing the window does not end that runtime; reopening reconnects to its state. Newton remains an independent application in active development.
